Hi
Im a new user of retropie and I have hard time getting xbox one controler to work in PSX emulator it works fine in fba. Im using @smithers dual-boot that combines kodi and retropie, this build has some bugs that either Ive fixed or found a way around them .
If theres any user that has an xbox one pad and have 10min to walk me thru setup i would be more then happy, or even send me the config files of xbox one controler for psx emulator i would just switch them using ftp.

XBOX 360 Controllers mount location

All,

I’m running RC1 and have everything working with two wireless 360 controllers except controlling the retropie-menu and lauching the emulator options when a game initiates.

I believe this has to do with the fact that my controllers are “mounted” to /dev/input/js2 and js3. In my retroarch.cf, I have configured the joypad index so no issues there but I guess the retropie menu only takes js0 and js1 ?

I’ve tried disabling the xpad module as I’m running via xboxdrv but that doesn’t seem to help. When I read the forums here, most people talk about disabling xpad BEFORE installed Xboxdrv, which I haven’t done.

So in short : can I easily make sure that my Xbox360 controllers are mounted as js0/js1 ?

Thanks

Can you check your retroarch.cfg ?
I should somewhere depict two lines like these

input_enable_hotkey_btn = “8”
input_exit_emulator_btn = “9”

Obviously, 8 and 9 represent select and start (I’m using an Xbox 360 controller)

binding keyboard keys to arcade buttons set?

Hi!

I built arcade cabinet and hit a brick wall when configuring joystick and buttons…

Is there a way to bind keyboard keys to buttons?

I have DragonRise Inc Generic usb joystick controllers, mapped all needed standard buttons in retroarch, but here’s the problem:

I’d like to use separate button for ‘insert coin’ and in retropie’s mame it’s ‘6’ by default. – so i’d like to map map extra ‘coin button’ to 6.

I also love pinball dreams on amiga (which uses both shifts) so i’d like to map additional side buttons as ‘shift’ and ‘rshift’

and i don’t know how to do that… :(
I digged in this forum, search youtube and uncle google but i didn’t find the answer. Can You help my, my friends?

the system configures those lines in a per controller configuration in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/ directory – not in retroarch.cfg

Xin Mo controller not working in emulators

I am having an issue getting the Xin Mo arcade controller to work in the emulators. Retro Arch and Emulation-station recognizes it but I am unable to play the games I have.

Originally I was having the auto-fire problem and downloaded the new kernel. That fixed that problem.
This is the config file:
# If desired, it is possible to override which joypads are being used for user 1 through 8.
# First joypad available is 0.
input_player1_joypad_index = 0
input_player2_joypad_index = 0
# input_player3_joypad_index = 2
# input_player4_joypad_index = 3
# input_player5_joypad_index = 4
# input_player6_joypad_index = 5
# input_player7_joypad_index = 6
# input_player8_joypad_index = 7

# Joypad buttons.
# Figure these out by using RetroArch-Phoenix or retroarch-joyconfig.
# You can use joypad hats with hnxx, where n is the hat, and xx is a string representing direction.
# E.g. “h0up”
input_player1_a_btn = 5
input_player1_b_btn = 3
input_player1_y_btn = 0
input_player1_x_btn = 1
input_player1_start_btn = 6
input_player1_select_btn = 7
input_player1_l_btn = 2
input_player1_r_btn = 4
# input_player1_left_btn =
# input_player1_right_btn =
# input_player1_up_btn =
# input_player1_down_btn =
# input_player1_l2_btn =
# input_player1_r2_btn =
# input_player1_l3_btn =
# input_player1_r3_btn =
input_player1_up_axis = +1
input_player1_down_axis = -1
input_player1_left_axis = +0
input_player1_right_axis = -0
input_player2_a_btn = 5
input_player2_b_btn = 3
input_player2_y_btn = 0
input_player2_x_btn = 1
input_player2_start_btn = 6
input_player2_select_btn= 7
input_player2_l_btn = 2
input_player2_r_btn = 4

input_player2_up_axis = +1
input_player2_down_axis = -1
input_player2_left_axis = +0
input_player2_right_axis = -0

input_enable_hotkey_btn = 6
input_exit_emulator_btn = 7

Anyone know what the issue could be?

Hello !

It seems the default buttons of the IPAC countains some active buttons of the retropie configuration …
I mean that “space” and “K” are used to put a kind of TURBO or a STOP during the games in SNES, NES and at least MEGADRIVE.
So I reconfigure those buttons on the IPAC in R and T and reconfigure retroarch.cfg, and now it seems it works !
Last point on the SNES games at like to switch the buttons 3 and 6 (but only for SNES) do you know how can I do that ?

Thank you !

Hi, I’m using the Playstation dual shock 4, everything works perfect on every emulator even mame. The only problem I’m having is with FBA, final burn alpha. I’m using the lr-fba. All my controls work except for the start and insert coin button. What could be the problem? I even put the controls directly into the fba retroarch file and without any luck. Is also weird because my hotkey works. My hotkey is select and when I hit start and select I exit out the menu. I went tot he rgui and it says coin select and start is the start button in my case button 9.
select = 8
start =9

Either press f4 on keyboard / then press a key and drop to terminal, cd to RetroPie-Setup folder, and run sudo ./retropie_setup.sh – in the supplementary menu is an option “Install XBox contr. 360 driver”

you can do it from a remote ssh connection also.

HI @dankcushions
I figure out the solution to my problem. Since the hokey on my controller is set to select and the Coin for the emulator is set to select. The emulator would choose the hotkey over the coin. So what I did was set a different hotkey just for FBA. I did this by going into the FBA retroarch file.
So at first my hotkey was
input_enable_hotkey_btn = “8” // select

and then I change it on the FBA retroarch file using sudo nano
the new config is
input_enable_hotkey_btn = “4” // which is my L1 bumbper button

so now hotkey = L1
and
Coin = Select

Xbox 360 wired controller help

$

Please help with setting up a xbox 360 wired controller on retropie 3.0 RC 1 running on Rpi2.

My controller is connected and blinking. When all is up and running i get to push button A and setup controller. Controller is working outside of all emulators. I can control RetroPie, go in and out of emulators, list roms and start them. But when game starts i can not play it due to the fact that controller is not working in games.

So i guess controller needs to be configured on some other level so it won’t blink and take position 1 or two or.. so that led is always on.

How do i do this? Iw looked at so many tutorials but they all differ due to older versions.
